Only Dirty Pretty things (who top Roxy 1) are not from yorkshire.In the games still being played (Vote ends 16th June)Monkeysare only a few percentage points ahead of old stalwarts Blur. Both bands have full points from two games, with Arctics narrowly ahead of Radiohead on Goal difference. Other big hitters in top half of the table include Oasis andStereophonics. Like Manchester United, and Arsenal the super bands are collecting thousands of votes leaving many of the young pretenders standing.
Snow Patrol forced to cancel tour
Gary Lightbody has been forced to cancel all of Snow Patrol's North American tour dates. After finding that his voice is still utterly wrecked (his unhealed polyps may need surgery apparently)
The Kooks pop back at Razorlight
The Kooks have takenup the challenge lain down by Razorlight this week, hitting back live on stage. The band were playing final night of their UK tour at London's Astoria (May 18th) when lead singer Luke Pritchard took a pot shot at their famous peers.
"This one's for Johnny Borrell," the frontman jibed, before they started into their hit single 'Naïve'.
Carling festival news
Franz Ferdinand andKaiser Chiefs will play back to back headline slots at this years Carling festivals this August, as well as Muse and the Arctic Monkeys playing back to back on the alternate day. New confirmations include Mystery jets, Guillemots, Millburn, Hope of the states and Iforward Russia and The Automatic. More are yet to confirm but its looking like a rip Roarer already.
