The Wombats – Dingwalls, Camden.

Whilst waiting for the band to come on, we were having a drink at the bar, as you do, the band members alongside us!!! I had only experienced such pleasures when going to see my mates or brothers band.

This gig had all the elements of being a cracking night. The venue was intimate and, a little more luxurious than I am used to and it would seem the band were not too good to socialise with the public and keen to ‘keep it real’

At this stage the wombats have not yet released an album, so apart from the few single releases and a couple of tracks I found on t’web the play list was unfamiliar. This however did not detract from the overall excellence of the evening. 

The Wombats had so much energy and enthusiasm it was contagious. Some absorbing maybe a little too much as at one point it seems as though there were more people on the stage than in front of it. I think there might have been some sore bones the next day, one individual thought he’d try his hand at crowd surfing only to have the audience part like the red sea and he fell flat on the floor oh how I laughed. I just wish I’d caught it on camera sod you tube that definitely would have been a £250er on you’ve been framed. 

I booked up this gig because I saw them support Little Man Tate @ The Astoria in April. They did not disappoint and I will be seeing them again.
